    QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

    Chief Engineering Office is looking for Chief Thermal Systems Design Engineer who will be responsible for technically leading the efforts to improve the thermal design, component cooling, Secondary Air System (SAS) and oil system design processes and creating the design standards which will be the baseline for TEI’s current and future indigenous engine development projects.


    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Technically leading and oversighting the thermaldesign,component cooling, Secondary Air System (SAS) and oil system designactivities.
    • Providing the engineering expertise and industry knowledge tothe organisation.
    • Supporting the growth and mentoring less experienced engineers in their specific technical domain of thermal systems design.
    • Review, create and own the technical documents, design practices, lessons learned and best practices related with thermal system design discipline.
    • Providing technical direction to Thermal Systems DesignBoard.
    • Providing technical input to future developments and contributing to continuous improvement of thermal system designdiscipline.
    • Identify the training needs and providingtechnical trainings to the organisation.
    • Defining and working on enabling technologies and their application on TEI’s indigenous engine developmentprojects.
    • Attend the design reviews, chair or co-chair design reviews.


    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
    • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
    • In-depth knowledge of heat transfer, fluid mechanics and gas dynamics.
    • Expertise in thermal design of gas turbines and practical knowledge of thermal modelling. (1D, 2D and 3D)
    • Expertise in Secondary Air System (SAS) design of gas turbines.
    • Professional experience in hot flow path components cooling (i.e. that turbine blade, vane and shroud cooling).Knowledge in cooling-life-failure mode interactions in gasturbines.
    • Professional experience in oil system design of gas turbine engines. Knowledge in oil system equipmentsizing and selection.
    • Strong knowledge of gas turbine performance (i.e. that thermodynamic cycle calculations) and general design principles.
    • Skills in conceiving, implementing and solving complex fluid dynamic and heat transferproblems in gas turbines.
    • Creative in defining new, elegant and simple design solutions to challenging thermal and fluid system problems and requirements.
    • Being an effective technical mentor and coach.
    • Proficiency in English.
